About Me

Born into a family of engineers, I knew I wanted my work life to be different. I looked for more direct and in depth human interactions on a daily basis. I witnessed people’s suffering through illness. I realized how fascinating to be able to give the gift of health. I worked hard to be able to provide that gift to others both in my native country in Turkey and in the USA.

I completed two ophthalmology residencies, both in Turkey and the USA and a clinical fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus in Chicago.

I have always loved the water and swimming. I’ve taken that passion to the next level, becoming a certified advanced open water diver and working toward becoming a dive master. It’s so amazing underwater - calm, peaceful, relaxing. I feel like I am a part of it when I am underwater.

I want my patients to have the opportunity to see and experience the wonders of life. I have cared for people who could not walk into my clinic on their own due to not being able to see. After surgery, it was a miracle to them. It’s a gift I am able to give them.
