Blessing Health System employees Debbie Giesing and Terri Bugh retire on June 6, 2025, representing 36 years of service.
Debbie, admissions coordinator, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, retires after 22 years of service.
“My career has been focused on students and helping them find their career pathway. My joy and passion have been helping each student find their individual path whatever that turned out to be,” she said. “I enjoyed watching their enthusiasm, fresh energy, and the excitement they bring, not only to the college but to their profession.”
Prior to becoming admissions coordinator, Debbie served Blessing-Rieman College and its students as a receptionist, secretary and admissions counselor during her 22-year career.
“No matter what position I held within the college, I loved being a part of students’ college experience. Sometimes I was their mom away from home, a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on. I hope they felt my compassion and dedication in helping them achieve their dreams,” she concluded.
Debbie was a member of the Illinois and Missouri Associations for College Admission Counseling. Locally, she served as a United Way of Adams County volunteer and is a member of St. Anthony Church.
She holds a Bachelor in Science degree from Hannibal-LaGrange University and an Associate in Science degree from John Wood Community College.
Prior to joining Blessing-Rieman, Debbie worked for the Quincy Public School District, Moorman Manufacturing and Sears.
Terri, Financial Counselor, Patient Financial Services, Blessing Hospital, retired after 14 years of service.
“I have enjoyed helping others in my years at Blessing Hospital, coworkers as well as patients,” she said. “Medical billing and how health insurance works can be difficult to understand. I have met a lot of people and made good friends here.”
A graduate of John Wood Community College with a degree in Sociology, Terri was on the Guardianship Office staff of the West Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging before joining Blessing Hospital.
A resident of Lewistown, Missouri, she is married to Kenneth Bugh and has three daughters - Tara Schroder, Tasia Lay and Kelsey Hickman - along with grandchildren that she plans to spend much time with in retirement.
