About Me

Raised in the home of a doctor and a nurse, Dr. Peterson realized her passion for medicine early. In high school she took medical-based classes and continued to do so from then on, graduating from Western Carolina University with a degree in emergency medical care and as a certified paramedic. Her love for medicine continued to grow as she completed medical school and residency.

While preparing to move from residency to Blessing Health System, Dr. Peterson experienced a profound moment. “While preparing my patients for my departure, there were many who were so grateful and sad to see me leave. They hugged me like family. It helped me realize I had truly made an impact.”

Patients find a compassionate, straight-shooter when they choose Dr. Peterson as their primary care physician.

“It’s important that my patients feel heard and have a sense of trust in our relationship. My compassion comes with honesty. I know some things in medicine are hard to hear, but I don’t ever want my patients to feel they are not getting what they need or don’t have all the information to be able to make an informed decision.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Peterson enjoys reading, being outdoors, baking, and her newest hobby, gardening.
