Megan Ogle began her journey with Blessing Health System in 2000 as an LPN/Certified Scrub Tech in the Obstetrics Department. After earning her RN degree, she remained a devoted part of Blessed Beginnings until 2012.
After several years with Blessing Home Care, Megan returned to her home department in 2015 as a Nursery Nurse – a place she continues to call home today.
This year marks a particularly special chapter in Megan’s story: Her daughter, Makayla Cale, who graduated in May 2025, has joined the team as a Labor and Delivery RN. Not only are mother and daughter now working side by side in the same department, but Makayla has also had the unique opportunity to be oriented to the Post-Partum unit by her mom.
“When I first started at Blessing Hospital, I still remember being in tears as I told my supervisor that I was pregnant. A few months later, I welcomed a sweet little girl – Makayla Joy. I knew she would bring joy to my life, and she truly has. My children have always been my ‘why,’” Megan said.
“Now, when I see Makayla all grown up – caring for OB patients with such confidence and compassion – I can’t help but feel inspired. Watching her serve others in the same setting where my own journey began is one of the greatest joys of my life,” she concluded.
Makayla said, “Growing up, I knew mom had a cool job working with babies, but little did I understand what that fully entailed. I’d ask her to swaddle my dolls, because only she could do it just the right way. Now, all these years later, I see the amazing care she gives to her patients. I see the grace, kindness, and skill in every interaction.
“She’s also the most humble and gracious nurse, never accepting credit where it’s due. I feel so honored to work alongside her in this profession, and learn from her in such a different capacity. We’ve always been best-friends, but now there’s a different kind of respect and love,” she concluded.
Megan is one of the most compassionate and kind human beings - and one of the most dedicated bedside nurses we’ve ever had the privilege of working with. Those same qualities shine brightly in Makayla, whose warmth, empathy, and skill already reflect the legacy her mother has built. It's a beautiful full-circle moment – a testament to the lasting impact of our OB team and the dedication that runs through generations. Megan and Makayla’s shared passion for caring for mothers and babies truly embodies the spirit of Blessing.
