For a first-time mother, feeling heard, supported, and at peace can make all the difference during delivery. That level of compassionate, patient-centered care has earned Lindsey Mettes, RN, Blessing Health System’s DAISY Award for May 2026.

She was nominated by a patient who described the profound impact Lindsey had during the delivery of her first baby. After sharing her birth plan, the patient said Lindsey not only respected every request, but “exceeded every single expectation,” even offering thoughtful suggestions to help ensure the experience was everything she had hoped for. The goal was a calm, peaceful delivery. And according to her nomination, Lindsey was “the perfect nurse to make that happen.”

Describing Lindsey as a “quietly dominant, soft-spoken leader,” the patient noted, “it’s like she could read my mind and gave me exactly what I needed.”

Throughout the delivery, Lindsey’s presence provided reassurance, confidence, and comfort. Her ability to lead with calm professionalism while remaining attentive to the patient’s emotional needs helped create an experience that left a lasting impression.

“Lindsey is genuinely an amazing nurse,” the nomination concluded. “I could not have been more pleased with my experience with her.”

Blessing Health System congratulates Lindsey on earning the May 2026 DAISY Award. Her dedication exemplifies the true spirit of the DAISY Award and the difference exceptional nurses make every day.
