Jessica Robinson’s ability to turn an anxious healthcare experience into one of comfort and connection has earned her Blessing Health System’s latest Honey Bee Award.
Robinson, a team member in the Sleep Center, was recognized after receiving a heartfelt nomination from a patient who described the extraordinary compassion she demonstrated during an overnight sleep study.
The patient shared that they were already navigating a challenging health journey and were anxious about undergoing testing to determine the cause of ongoing fatigue.
“The thought of going to the Sleep Center was not exciting and made me very nervous,” the patient wrote. “Not knowing what to expect, although I am a provider, I really did not want to be told I had obstructive sleep apnea.”
According to the nomination, Robinson immediately put those fears at ease.
“As the night began, Jessica was so receptive to my needs and just kept talking me through everything,” the patient said. “At one point, as more things were getting hooked up, it felt like I was talking to a sister. We just kept telling stories, and it felt like a sleepover with a friend.”
What could have been an intimidating and uncomfortable experience became one marked by warmth, reassurance, and genuine human connection. The patient credited Robinson’s kindness and compassion with helping them feel comfortable throughout the night.
“Thank you so much, Jessica, for your kindness and compassion that night,” the nomination concluded.
