Rectal cancer has caused him to put down his bow, but Alan kept his target in sight. “No matter what, I was going to stay positive,” said the 40-year-old father of three from Bowling Green, MO, about the day in 2021 when he received his diagnosis. “Thinking negative can make you sicker.”
Blessing Hospital earns national four-star rating
The care and service provided by Blessing Hospital earned an annual overall rating of four out of five stars among the 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals in the country. The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the rating through its “Hospital Compare” program.

Cardiac nurse receives DAISY Award
Robbie Overstreet, RN, Cardiovascular Unit, Blessing Hospital, became the 42nd Blessing nurse to receive the international DAISY Award during a ceremony on August 19.
Cashier earns Honey Bee Award
Tammy Haggerty, cafeteria assistant, Food & Nutrition, became the 19th Blessing Hospital caregiver to receive the Honey Bee Award in a surprise presentation on Thursday, December 5.
