When they see a need, they respond — through the Good News of Christmas campaign; the annual Salvation Army red kettle drive; support of the United Way and its agencies; or helping a neighbor in need after a fire, flood or devastating medical diagnosis. Dogwood baby 2021 is honored

Na’liyah Reed, newborn daughter of Stefanie Allen and Natas Reed, Quincy, IL, is the 2021 Dogwood Festival baby. She earned the honor by being the first baby born at Blessing Hospital after the start of the 2021 Dogwood Festival.

Blessing heart nurse earns national certification

Jordan Hahn, BSN, RN, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Blessing Hospital, has earned the status of Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Celebrating Josie

Josie Amelia Edwards would have been 4 years old on March 25, 2022. Her family continued a tradition they began in Josie’s honor, who was stillborn, by donating baskets to Blessing Hospital to share with families who experience a stillbirth.

The local chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Pi Pi Chapter based at Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences in Quincy, received a Chapter Key Award at the international honor society’s recent biennial convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Interested members of the public are invited to gather with Blessing Health and Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network staff at a flag raising to mark Donate Life Month. The flag raising takes place at the flag pole in front of Blessing Hospital at 11:30 am, Friday, April 25.
