First baby of 2019 at Blessing Hospital

Emberlynn Kae Wiseman was the first baby of 2019 born at Blessed Beginnings, the maternity center at Blessing Hospital.  She was born at 6:49 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, the daughter of Kelcee and Alex Wiseman of Quincy.

This is how Amy Henson’s wife, Jillian, describes her, “Someone who is fiercely loyal, who has a ginormous (sic) heart and is willing to care about others.” That passion and compassion caused Amy to put some important personal needs on hold recently. Over a short period of time Jillian’s mother became ill and passed away, Amy started a new job as a licensed clinical social worker with Blessing Health, and Jillian was diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer.

Matt Kroner, CNA, 2 North, became the 18th Blessing Hospital caregiver to receive the Honey Bee Award in a surprise presentation on Thursday, November 21.

Tamara Scott, Care Coordination, RN Inpatient Clinical Care Coordinator, received a Who’s Your Angel nomination from fellow Blessing Hospital employee Carrie Altobelli, Critical Care/PCU, RN. The Blessing Foundation presented the Who’s Your Angel award on June 3.

Individuals, organizations rally to support local Novel Coronavirus response

Blessing Health System is following federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for health systems across the country to implement tactics to conserve the use of PPE. One CDC-approve tactic is the use of cloth masks over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) N95 masks to extend the life of the masks. Individuals and organizations are now contacting Blessing Health System to volunteer to sew the cloth masks.

ICU Nurse Honored for Creating Memory Collage for Family

Dakota Wand, RN, ICU, became the 57th Blessing Hospital nurse to receive the international DAISY Award. She received the award during a ceremony on February 9, 2021.
