Karen Mayville, PhD, RN, Administrative Coordinator – Accreditation, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, retires on December 31, 2024, after 42 years of service.
Blessing service earns 5-star rating
Blessing Hospital’s Skilled Nursing Unit (SNU) earned an overall five-star rating for the recent survey period of the nation’s nursing homes from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The survey is conducted four times each year. Blessing’s SNU has earned an overall five-star rating in each of the past four survey periods.

Remembering Meleah
Meleah Flynn’s husband and three daughters recently stopped by Blessing Hospital to see her name, which had been added to the memorial wall in the Blessing Cancer Center for donations received in her memory. Meleah passed away July 7, 2021, at the age of 54 after a two-year battle with stage 4 colon cancer.

Blessing Hospital has earned its second, consecutive grade of “A” for patient safety from a leading national healthcare consumer group. Blessing was one of only 823 hospitals nationwide and 38 in Illinois named among the safest by the Leapfrog Group for spring 2017.
Getting outpatient lab testing done gets easier on March 4
People in the Illini Community Hospital area who need lab testing have a new option beginning March 4. Illini Express Clinic will provide pre-registered patients their outpatient lab testing in the Clinic’s drive through bay, instead of the person having to go the laboratory inside the hospital during the hours they are open.
Cardiac screening gives parents peace of mind
A simple screening could identify a potentially life-threatening condition in teens. The Adolescent Cardiac Screening is offered annually by Blessing Health System at no-cost to families.
