From mushroom hunting to world travel: Celebrating a life-changing anniversary
Mary Eustace is a leader. In December 2019, she was the first Blessing Hospital patient to have her damaged aortic heart value replaced through a minimally invasive procedure called Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, or TAVR. Over the next 12 months, 32 other people, ages 54 to 94 from throughout the Tri-State area, experienced the life-changing effects of TAVR.
Registration open for “Strike Out Breast Cancer” at Tangerine Bowl
Registration is open for the 14th annual “Strike Out Breast Cancer” at Tangerine Bowl in Quincy to benefit patients of the Blessing Breast Center. The event will take place over two days: Friday, April 26 at 7 pm, and Saturday, April 27, with three sessions to choose from at Noon, 3 and 6:30 pm.

Daylight Saving Time means it’s time to check AEDs
Clocks spring forward an hour Sunday, March 8. As Daylight Saving Time arrives, people are encouraged to check batteries in their smoke detectors. In addition, it’s important for those responsible for Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in publicly used buildings including businesses and stores, schools, clinics and churches, to check those potentially life-saving devices.
