Rachel Pettitt, BSN, RN, PCCN, Nurse Educator with Blessing Health System’s Nursing Professional Development department, has earned the Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
The PCCN certification recognizes nurses who care for acutely ill adult patients. To qualify for certification, Pettitt was required to have completed at least 1,750 hours of practice as a registered nurse during the previous two years, either providing direct care to acutely ill adult patients or educating nurses or nursing students at the bedside.
Pettitt joined Blessing in 2019 and has served in several nursing roles throughout the health system. She began as a nurse intern in Women’s and Children’s Services before working as a student nurse assistant in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and later as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. She now serves as a nurse educator with Nursing Professional Development and the Progressive Care Unit.
A resident of New London, Missouri, Pettitt earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing in 2020.
Pettitt’s achievement reflects her commitment to continued professional growth and maintaining a high level of knowledge and skill in caring for acutely ill patients. Her expertise also supports the continued development of nurses who provide care throughout Blessing Health System.
