Eric Martin has been promoted to the position of Director of Clinical and Outpatient Pharmacy for Blessing Health System. In this role, Martin provides oversight and strategic direction for Blessing’s clinical pharmacy services, and has responsibility for its growing retail pharmacy and specialty pharmacy programs. This integrated structure strengthens Blessing’s systemwide approach to pharmacy services and positions it for continued growth, innovation, and excellence in patient care.
A 17-year member of the Blessing pharmacy team, Martin earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy. He is also a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Martin is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist, and is certified in antibiotic stewardship.

Under Martin’s leadership in his previous position as Blessing Regional Clinic Pharmacy Manager, the hospital pharmacies in Quincy and Pittsfield were recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health for implementing evidence-based antimicrobial stewardship practices that protect patients from harm, caused by unnecessary and/or ineffective antibiotic use, and combat antibiotic resistance.
Martin is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health System Pharmacists, and the Illinois Council of Health System Pharmacists.
