Katie Ludwig, BSN, RN, infection preventionist registered nurse, Blessing Health System, has earned the status of Certified in Infection Control (CIC) from the national Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology. Candidates for certification must meet specific education and experience requirements, and pass a 150-question exam.
Ludwig is part of the Infection Prevention team that focuses on research, education, and dissemination of information on best practices. Her team collaborates with Blessing Health System employees, public health officials, and community healthcare facilities.
A 12-year employee of Blessing and a Liberty, Illinois resident, Ludwig is a graduate of St. John’s College of Nursing in Springfield, Illinois. She worked for the Adams County Health Department, and on Blessing’s Intermediate Care Unit and in Home Care before joining the health system’s Infection Prevention Department.
