For the seventh consecutive year, Blessing Hospital has been named a “High Performing Hospital” by U.S. News & World Report as part of its annual Best Hospitals report. High Performing Hospital is the highest distinction a hospital can earn in U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedure and Condition ratings.
In the national 2025-2026 report, Blessing was recognized for high performance in the following areas of care:
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
- Colon cancer surgery
- Heart bypass surgery
- Stroke
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions. Only 38% of the evaluated hospitals, including Blessing Hospital, earned High Performing Hospital status. The recognition is awarded based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care, using outcomes data from over 800 million records of patient care.
The ratings are designed to assist patients in making informed decisions about where to receive care for health conditions or elective procedures.
“Hospitals designated as ‘High Performing’ by U.S. News demonstrate a consistent ability to provide excellent care for particular medical procedures and conditions, showcasing their specialized expertise as well as dedication to exceptional patient outcomes,” said Managing Editor and Chief of Health Analysis Ben Harder at U.S. News.
“Due to our position as the region’s referral hospital, our physicians, nursing team, other caregivers and support staff feel a heightened level of responsibility to achieve exceptional outcomes,” said Tim Tranor, DNP, MBA, RN, Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer, Blessing Health System. “Our patients deserve and should expect this level of care from their hospital. This recognition confirms the responsibility is being met thanks to the knowledge, skill and dedication of the Blessing team.”
