June is men's health month.

Men's health: Experience the Blessing Difference

Did you know that one in two men will develop cancer in their lifetime? Or that heart disease is the leading cause of death in men? Taking small steps now can make a big difference later in the health of men. During Men's Health Month in June, we encourage you to make a plan and schedule screenings to help keep your health care on track!

What to check and when to start

Your age plays a part in what to focus on when it comes to preventative and regular care. Here's a quick guide to what's important, based upon your age:

  • 20s - 30s: Schedule annual physicals and screen your blood pressure with a primary care provider. Schedule a mental health check-in with a behavioral health provider.
  • 40s - 50s: Look into regular screenings for cholesterol, diabetes, prostate health and colon cancer.
  • 60s+: Begin focusing on bone and joint health with our orthopedics team, and monitor your ongoing heart health with a cardiologist.
