What should a prostate cancer screening include and when should screening begin?

Some providers do a blood test called a Prostate Specific Antigen test only (PSA). If a man’s PSA level trends up over time, it could be an indication of prostate cancer. Other providers order a PSA test and conduct a digital rectal exam (DRE). Blessing Health board-certified urologist William Severino, feels both tests deliver the most complete picture.

Blessing hosts open house at new ambulatory surgery center

The public is invited to see the new Blessing Health System Ambulatory Surgery Center on the campus of Blessing Hospital on Wednesday, August 18, between 4 and 6 pm, beginning with a ribbon cutting followed by tours of the facility. Parking is available in a lot in front of the new building at 12th and Spring Streets in Quincy. Those attending will need to wear masks.
