CNA’s impact on patients and coworkers earns Honey Bee award
The coworkers who nominated Tyler Brinkley for the Honey Bee award called him a “team player” and “absolutely amazing with patients.” That nomination led to Tyler, CNA, General Medical/Hospitalist/Observation Decision Unit, to receive the health systems 83rd Honey Bee award during a recent ceremony.

Blessing hosts open house at new ambulatory surgery center
The public is invited to see the new Blessing Health System Ambulatory Surgery Center on the campus of Blessing Hospital on Wednesday, August 18, between 4 and 6 pm, beginning with a ribbon cutting followed by tours of the facility. Parking is available in a lot in front of the new building at 12th and Spring Streets in Quincy. Those attending will need to wear masks.
Blessing Cancer Center retains national accreditation
The Blessing Cancer Center has again earned accreditation from The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons, as the result of a recent survey. Blessing Hospital has held CoC accreditation since 1966.
Emergency Center nurse receives DAISY Award
Cindy Hoewing, RN, Emergency Center, Blessing Hospital, became the 44th Blessing nurse to receive the international DAISY Award during a ceremony on November 1.
Illini hosts ribbon cutting and open house for new Express Clinic
The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting and open house at the new Illini Express Clinic on Thursday, January 25. The ribbon cutting will be at 3 pm followed by an open house at the Express Clinic until 5 pm at its new location, 640 West Washington, Pittsfield, on the hospital campus.

Two Blessing Hospital respiratory therapists were nominated for the department’s annual Respiratory Care Excellence award during the observance of National Respiratory Care Week 2020.
An Unexpected Gift for Blessing Hospice
Renee Waters took the old saying, “put your money where your mouth is,” one step further recently. The award-winning certified nursing assistant (CNA) put her money where her heart is. Waters works at Golden Good Shepherd Home in Adams County, won the 2018 community wide CNA of the year contest and received $300 which she donated to Blessing Hospice.
2 North Unit Secretary earns Honey Bee Award
Tammie Davis, Unit Secretary, 2 North, became the 14th Blessing Hospital support staff member to receive the Honey Bee Award during a surprise presentation on Tuesday, July 16.
