Blessed Beginnings has instituted a national “best practice” that calls for not bathing newborns for the first eight-to-48 hours of their life.
State-of-the-art testing system now online in Blessing Hospital Laboratory
Blessing Hospital has purchased and installed a “BioFire®” testing system in its laboratory. BioFire® allows for in-house testing of twenty-one common viral and bacterial respiratory pathogens in less than an hour. The BioFire® platform has received FDA approval for COVID-19 testing and Blessing Hospital Laboratory will implement the test immediately upon receipt of the test kits from the company.
These calls are never simple
Blessing Health System’s COVID-19 Hotline nurses make calls to those who have pending COVID-19 tests and share the test results. The report is either “positive” or “negative.”

Who's Your Angel Award - Dr. Kurtis Stewart
Kurtis Stewart, M.D., Bariatric Surgery/Medicine, Blessing Bariatric Institute, received a Who’s Your Angel nomination from Tracy Armstrong, chaplain, Volunteer Services. The Blessing Foundation presented the Who’s Your Angel certificate and angel wings pin award to Dr. Stewart on February 17.
