Man discovers age doesn’t have to hurt
James Allan Olson thought what was happening to his body was natural, the results of aging. He was in his 70s, weighed 275 pounds, was diabetic, had high blood pressure, sleep apnea, edema (swelling) in his legs, was feeling tired all the time and often short of breath.

Macy Waterkotte, RN, Blessed Beginnings/Obstetrics, became the 50th Blessing nurse to receive the international DAISY Award during a ceremony on May 27, 2020.
Remembering Meleah
Meleah Flynn’s husband and three daughters recently stopped by Blessing Hospital to see her name, which had been added to the memorial wall in the Blessing Cancer Center for donations received in her memory. Meleah passed away July 7, 2021, at the age of 54 after a two-year battle with stage 4 colon cancer.
Hospice staff earns who's your angel award
Hospice staff Keaton Dierker, RN; Kai Clay, CNA; April Grattan, RN; Trista Neisen, Clinical Social Worker; Jerry Edison, Chaplain; and Nancy Dolan, Hospice Volunteer; received a Who’s Your Angel nomination from a patient’s mother, Catherine Lorenson. The Foundation Office presented the Who’s Your Angel awards on October 15.

Blessing hosts second “Ladies’ Night”
After a successful inaugural event in 2023, Blessing Health invites all area women to attend the second “Ladies’ Night.” This evening of skin and beauty presentations, product discounts, giveaways and appetizers, will be held Thursday, September 5 between 5:30 and 7:30 pm at the Blessing Health Center, 4800 Maine in Quincy. There is no cost to attend and no registration is required.
