Why Nursing Certification Matters

Professional nursing certification is a voluntary credential that validates advanced knowledge, clinical expertise, and commitment to excellence in a specialty area. Certified nurses demonstrate leadership in practice, contribute to improved patient outcomes, and strengthen professional growth across our organization. 

Certification Opportunities

Blessing supports a wide range of nationally recognized nursing certifications across specialty areas, including critical care, emergency nursing, medical-surgical, pediatrics, perioperative services, leadership, professional development, and more. Many certifications are offered through organizations such as AACN, ANCC, BCEN, ABPANC, NCC, and CCI. 

Most certifications require:

  • Approximately 2 years of RN experience or
  • 2,000 hours of specialty practice (Eligibility requirements vary by certifying body.) 

Financial Support for Certification

Blessing is committed to removing financial barriers to certification. 

Certification Vouchers

  • Vouchers are available for select certifications and specialty areas.
  • Some vouchers cover initial testing, recertification, or both.
  • Voucher requirements vary and may include minimum group participation. 

Certification Reimbursement

If a voucher is not available for your certification, testing costs may be reimbursed through the Clinical Certification Reimbursement Program.
Nurses pay for the exam upfront and submit documentation for reimbursement after successfully passing. 

Once You’re Certified

After passing your exam:

  • You receive a small gift and a badge backer to show you are nationally certified!
  • We recognize certified nurse's annually on National Certified Nurse's Day March 19.

  • Additional support may be available through the Employee Educational Assistance Program for review courses.
