About Me

Dr. Sahajpal (pronounced sah-HAHJ-paul) has a pretty good idea of what most people say in the car after a doctor’s appointment.

“What happened?  Most people leave a doctor’s office not remembering or not understanding everything,” he says. “My job is to explain to a patient what is going on with them in a way they understand and the treatment alternatives they have.”

A trauma surgeon on the Blessing Orthopedic and Sports Medicine team, Dr. Sahajpal completed fellowships in orthopedic sports medicine and shoulder-elbow upper extremity surgery.

“I chose orthopedic surgery to be able to get people back to doing the things that they enjoy in life,” he explains.

As well as informing patients of their options, Dr. Sahajpal can also tell patients what not to do. As a college soccer player, he broke the same leg twice in 12 weeks.

“I tried to get back before the season finished,” he recalls. “I know what it’s like to not listen to your doctor.”

That leg is fine today. Dr. Sahajpal enjoys long distance running, tennis and golf when not working. And, as a native Canadian, he loves hockey and the Montreal Canadiens.

“Anyone who wants to talk hockey, I am happy to do it.”
