About the Teresa Adams House (formerly the Quincy Hospitality House)

The Teresa Adams House provides affordable temporary lodging for patients receiving health care in Quincy and their loved ones, offering compassion to those we serve.

This non-profit, volunteer organization was established in 1998 by Blessing Hospital, Blessing Volunteers In Partnership and the Adams County Medical Alliance. It is operated by a volunteer board of directors, volunteer staff, and the Blessing Hospital Volunteer Services Department. Apply to be a volunteer!

Our Guests

Guests must be patients or visitors/caregivers of a patient currently seeking medical care in the Quincy area. Medical care includes hospitalization, testing or procedures, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hospice care, and dialysis. Please call the Teresa Adams House at (217) 228-3022 if you have questions about eligibility. 

Rooms are also open for day use, such as for a nap and shower or for waiting to see the doctor again, based on availability.

Reservations

Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis or by advanced reservation on a limited basis. For room availability, call the Teresa Adams House at (217) 228-3022 from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm daily, or submit this form, and someone will get back to you.  

Cost

Rooms are $40 per night, and each room includes two queen beds. Lodging grants may be available to those unable to pay the $40.

For those wishing to use a room for that day, perhaps after a medical procedure, test or treatment, the day use rate is $25.  

Guest Guidelines

  • Volunteer hosts and hostesses provide check-in services from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm daily.

  • The House is a smoke-free facility and does not allow pets.

  • If our facility does not accommodate your special needs, the volunteer on duty can provide you with information on local alternative lodging options. 

Amenities

  • Eight private guest rooms with your own wheelchair accessible private bathroom. You control your own heating and air conditioning. Rooms contain a small refrigerator and small freezer

  • TV

  • Shared kitchen with coffee pot, microwave, toaster, and refrigerator

  • Common living room

  • Laundry facilities

  • Bed linens and towels

  • Hairdryers

  • Wireless Internet

Location

The Teresa Adams House is located at 630 N. 11th Street. We are just across the parking lot from Blessing Hospital and a few blocks from many physician offices and other medical services.
