Illini Child Care Center to close

Due to challenges in recruiting qualified early learning teachers and other staff, along with the overall cost of administering and maintaining the center, Illini Community Hospital has made the difficult decision to close its child care center permanently as of February 28, 2025.

Blessing donation comes just in time for summer at Jackson-Lincoln Pool

Ready for summer! Blessing Health System presented representatives of the Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex with a check for $14,391.63 at the organization's annual meeting Friday, March 22, 2019. The donation covers $8,391.64 needed to replace the pool's pump and $6,000 to fund a Family Swim Night each week during the summer of 2019. Presenting the check at left and center are Chaka Jordan, vice president, Marketing & Planning and Patrick Gerveler, executive vice president/chief financial officer, Blessing Health System. Accepting the check at right is Helen Bumbry, Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex board member and wife of the late Ben Bumbry, long-time Complex executive director.

Hancock County COVID-19 Death

June 1, 2020, the Hancock County Health Department and Memorial Hospital have received notification from Blessing Hospital of the first death of a Hancock County resident who died of medical conditions complicated by COVID-19. The individual was in their 60’s to 70’s and passed away on Sunday, May 31 at Blessing Hospital.
