Trauma Nurse Specialist Course

This state approved trauma course is a comprehensive, 9-week course covering all facets of trauma care including pre-hospital, initial assessment, acute resuscitation, stabilization and transfer as well as common complications experienced by the severely injured trauma patient.

Course will include PowerPoint lectures, written evaluations and practical evaluations.

Prerequisites: 

  • Current licensure in any state.
  • Minimum of one year of critical care or emergency care experience.

Successful completion of the course includes:

  1. Completion of course quizzes with a minimum of 80% average.
  2. Successful management of a trauma via practical exam, and
  3. Completion of TNS state written exam with a minimum score of 80%.
