New heart procedure reduces stroke risk and fear
      
                        Talk with Jim Waterkotte for a while and you know he is one of a kind. But not in every way. Jim had taken a blood thinner for 10 years.  So do as many as three million people each year in the United States. Jim took the blood thinner to control life-threatening clotting associated with his heart’s abnormal rhythm, known as atrial fibrillation (Afib).

Pandemic (and a phone call) lead nurse back to Blessing
      
                        During my first day of orientation, I could barely contain myself. Maureen Kahn, president and chief executive officer of Blessing Health System and Blessing Hospital, discussed how the health system did not lay off one employee because of the pandemic. That just blew me away. I was almost in tears. They knew it would hurt their bottom dollar. They did it anyway, without question.

Silman, quality coordinator, Blessing Home Care, has met the requirements to retain her Certificate for OASIS Specialist – Clinical (COS-C) designation for another three-year period.
