ER doctor cures family’s fears, earns ICARE award
When a woman experienced heart attack symptoms three weeks after a heart attack that required three stents, her frightened daughter – a Blessing employee - brought her to the Emergency Center. There she found a cure for her mother’s symptoms, and for her own fear, in the person of Emergency Center physician, Dr. Roman Fridline.

Blessing Health System selected to participate in national project to improve rural health care
Blessing Health System is one of two providers in the nation selected to participate in a project to improve health care to rural residents, in cooperation with Ariadne Labs, a joint center for health system innovation created by Harvard T. J. Chan School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Massachusetts.
What should a prostate cancer screening include and when should screening begin?
Some providers do a blood test called a Prostate Specific Antigen test only (PSA). If a man’s PSA level trends up over time, it could be an indication of prostate cancer. Other providers order a PSA test and conduct a digital rectal exam (DRE). Blessing Health board-certified urologist William Severino, feels both tests deliver the most complete picture.
