For patients in need of other outpatient therapies, we offer physical therapy services at Blessing's East Adams Clinic in Golden. We also partner with ADVANCE Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine to offer Blessing patients a range of physical and occupational therapies at ADVANCE’s Quincy locations.

Speech Therapy Services We Offer

Blessing’s expert care team offers a full range of outpatient speech therapy services at our main campus. Our speech-language pathologists are all members of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and hold certificates of clinical competence. We provide comprehensive evaluation services and individualized treatment plans for clients of all ages, from young children to older adults.

Our speech therapy services include:

  • Specialized voice therapy program: Our program offers the area’s only Lee Silverman Voice Therapy specialist. This proven speech treatment program can restore oral communication in individuals with Parkinson’s disease. It can also benefit patients with multiple sclerosis, vocal fold paralysis and cerebral palsy.

  • Pediatric speech-language program: With our thorough evaluation and treatment services, our therapists address all aspects of communication in our youngest patients. We assess articulation as well as the ability to express and understand language.

  • Voice disorder management: We provide individualized assessments using a Visi-Pitch computer system, which allows for visual and auditory feedback to help ensure proper voice production. Our therapists can also aid with Passy-Muir® Speaking valves for patients who had a tracheostomy as well as Blom-Singer prostheses for patients who had a laryngectomy.

  • Dysphagia management: Our team holds special certifications for evaluating and treating swallowing and feeding disorders. We create individualized treatment plans to improve patients’ swallowing function and achieve optimal nutrition.

  • Neurological disorder treatment: Blessing’s speech therapists are skilled in treating neurological communication disorders that may occur after a stroke or brain injury. After identifying these communication disorders, we help patients relearn speaking, reading and writing skills for activities of daily living.

Lymphedema Therapy Services

We offer a range of lymphedema therapy services at Blessing Hospital. Our lymphedema therapist is certified by the Lymphology Association of North America. Using specialized techniques, this therapy helps to manage the swelling of patients’ arms or legs after cancer treatment or other medical conditions.
