We invest in our highly skilled surgical teams and modern facilities to provide you with the best possible surgical care. People across our region come to us for our:

  • Minimally invasive surgeries: Our skilled surgeons and teams have years of expertise in performing many surgeries through tiny incisions. Minimally invasive techniques can help reduce pain, minimize blood loss, reduce the risk of complications and shorten recovery times.

  • Outpatient choices: You do not need to stay overnight in the hospital for many surgical procedures. Outpatient surgery is quick and allows you to go home after you recover from the anesthesia. For your convenience, we perform outpatient surgeries at Blessing Hospital Surgical Department and the Blessing Surgery Center.

    • Hours of operation for the Surgery Center and GI are Monday – Friday: 6:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Patient safety: We do everything we can to make your surgery safe and your recovery as quick and painless as possible. That’s why we are a proud member of the American College of Surgeons’ National Surgical Quality Improvement Program® (ACS NSQIP) and the Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative (ISQIC). These programs analyze our surgical data to ensure that we continue to provide the best surgical care possible.

  • Advanced technologies: We invest in the latest imaging and diagnostic technologies so that we can provide accurate diagnoses for treatment planning. When possible, our surgeons perform minimally invasive procedures to promote healing and recovery. Learn more about our da Vinci robotics system and our hybrid operating room.

  • Surgical teams with advanced training: Many of our surgeons and anesthesiologists have fellowship training, which is 1 to 2 years of additional, focused training in their specialty. Other team members, including nurses, anesthetists and technicians, also have additional, specialized training in their fields. Your surgical team is highly trained and will provide you with the excellent care you expect.

  • Surgical Services at Illini Community Hospital: Surgical services aren't limited to just Blessing Hospital. As part of Blessing Health System, several procedures are available at our Illini Community Hospital facility in Pittsfield. Offering the same level of care, compassion, and expert knowledge you expect, Illini Community Hospital offers a shorter traveling distance for some patients in our region.
