Services and Products We Offer
Our infusion nurses provide treatments including:
-
Blood products: Certain treatments and conditions can lower your red blood cell or platelet levels. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the rest of your body. Platelets help your blood to clot properly. You may need a blood or platelet transfusion to keep these cell counts at normal levels.
-
Antibiotics: We can infuse systemic antibiotics (medications that travel throughout the body) to help you fight off an infection.
-
Fluids: If you become dehydrated, we can restore your fluids with solutions that include the right balance of electrolytes. Electrolytes are chemicals, such as sodium and potassium, that help keep you hydrated and maintain normal blood pressure when they are in balance. You can lose electrolytes through sweating or blood loss.
-
Chemotherapy: If medications are part of your cancer treatment plan, you may receive your medications through infusion.
